Reflection 139
Welcome!
Living Paradox
When I’m at my best, when the most persistent and authentic of my feelings are given full play, I make a double discovery: on the one hand I find myself shedding all responsibilities, all attachments and identifications whatever, dropping the lot, claiming nothing and being nothing, and so at last breaking free; and on the other hand – supremely inconsistent – I find myself taking everyone and everything on board, laying claim to the lot, not resting content until the universe’s meanest creature is gathered under my loving wing. This is the ultimate truth, the paradoxical and double-sided truth about the way I really feel. (
