Reflection 178
Welcome!
Submitting To What Is
Whereas the ordinary man says “My will be done – I hope,” and the magician says “My will be done – I insist,” the mystic says “Thy will be done – I know.” His aim is to submit with his whole heart at all times and in all things to what is, to God’s designs for him as perfectly displayed in his present circumstances, and to leave his future entirely in God’s hands. The normal man would like to win, the magician is determined to win, the mystic is content to surrender. His attitude could not be more different from theirs. (
