Worship

I am sure that God, bless her heart, is thrilled by the universe, but I think her chief joy, her chief surprise and wonder, is wonder at her own self-origination for no reason and with no help – the mystery of Nothingness, unaware of itself, achieving Awareness, Non-Being flipping over into Being. And she doesn’t know how she does it! She couldn’t know how she does it! When we enjoy this, it is worship. It’s not Douglas’s worship of God. It’s God’s own astonishment at its, his, her invention, going on right Here, right Now. (Douglas Harding. Face to No-Face.)
