Commitment

There is a great deal of difference between seeing Who you are as a matter of some interest, or help in time of need, and a dedication to this as central in one's life. But the commitment is not on the side of or characteristic of the Centre itself. The commitment is on the side of and (one hopes) characterises the human periphery, the mind. There is no commitment at the Centre, the Centre is free of all characteristics. (Douglas Harding. 1977 Interview.)
